Title: Director, Statistical Programming

The Director, Statistical Programming has overall responsibility for the statistical programming function. The successful candidate will work closely with Biostatistics, Data Management and other functional leaders to ensure quality of CDISC datasets and statistical analysis, set up efficient tools and processes, and collaborate with IT to secure computing and analytical environment. This position will report to the Senior Director, Biometrics.


Essential Functions:

These may include, but are not limited to, the following; other duties may be assigned

  • Lead programmer for the pivotal trial in MDS
  • Manage, develop and mentor programmers on technical skills and professional growth
  • Develop and maintain programming infrastructure to support statistical analysis needs from all clinical trials
  • Develop standard macros and/or tools in SAS to improve programming efficiency and quality
  • Implement programming SOPs and working instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage vendors regarding programming issues to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Prepare and manage budget for the statistical programming function


Education & Experience:

  • MS or higher degree preferred and BC degree required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences and/or related areas
  • Seasoned statistical programmer with excellent knowledge of SAS and 10+ industry working experience in oncology clinical trials
  • Demonstrated success in a management role in small biotech companies and high paced work environment
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory reporting requirements including electronic data submissions and CDISC implementation
  • Experience in multiple FDA filings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability of evaluating resource needs periodically
